Competition Etiquette

The Hanover Park Golden Hornets Marching Band prides itself on our competition etiquette. each year we are complimented by parents, students and band directors of some of the best bands on the east coast. With that being said here are some etiquette rules to go by:

  • From the time we start our sing through on the bus we are performing and continue to perform until we step on the bus to leave.
  • Uniforms stay on at ALL TIMES unless the staff says otherwise.
  • When watching any band in the stands NO CELLPHONE USE.
  • If you are in the stands when another bad is performing there is NO TALKING
  • When we are in in two lines we are performing this means NO TALKING, NO HOLDING HANDS, ONLY TWO LINES, NO SWITCHING PARTNERS, AND STAY NEXT TO YOUR PARTNER.
  • When the home band is performing everyone is to be in the stands watching and saluting afterwards.
  • When other bands are doing the wave, yelling, or singing before the awards we do not.
  • When our groups scores are being announced we stand and salute after they announce ours, we celebrate later.
